Summer has ended for children in the U.S. South. The school bells chimed nearly a week ago and have called them back inside; so with another season comes another series. Thus, I have planned a series of posts marking the occasion. I look forward to sharing my Back-to-School Series featuring an interview with a high school math teacher about his expectations for his in-coming students and the reality that greets him the first week; my email exchange with a friend about her end of summer trip with her son; my reflections on the Virginia Tech shooting that occurred on April 16, 2007 in light of the recent violence in Colorado and Texas; my thoughts about school supply lists and a few suggested readings.
